The movie I watched was The Wizard of Oz and the major actress in this film was Judy Garland (Dorothy). The director of this film is Victor Fleming. The producer of this film is Mervyn LeRoy. The main characters in this film are Dorothy, who was a girl that lived in Kansas that did not like her life. She wants to leave and that is what she ends up doing, but to a very weird place. The scarecrow, who wants to ask the Wizard of Oz to give him a brain because he thinks that he does not have one. The Tin Man, who is a man made of tin and he wants to ask the Wizard for a heart because he doesn't have one. The Lion, who wants to ask the Wizard for some courage because he does not know that he has any. The conflict is that Dorothy wants to go back home to Kansas but she has to ask the Wizard to send her there. Dorothy follows a yellow brick road and meets her friends along the way. She makes it to the Wizard and she asks him to send her home to Kansas. All her friends ask the Wizard what they wanted from him also.
The plot of this movie is unlikely because there are a lot of crazy things that happen in this film. For example when the trees start talking to Dorothy and also the scarecrow coming alive and pretty much the whole entire movie. The dialouge in this movie was pretty normal. A theme that I saw in this film was joy because for most of the movie Dorothy was happy and so were her friends.
I thought that the acting in this movie was good for the most part. I believed that the actors really were the characters because they had good makeup and costumes. The sets in this film were not very good though i thought because you could tell that everything was really fake. I think they could have done a better job making the sets more realistic than they did. I think that the costumes were good and they made the characters really look like what they were supposed to be. The makeup was also good, especially on the Tin Man because his face even looked like tin and you could tell that it took a lot of makeup to make the characters. The director put special visual effects in the movie but they weren't very good.
What i noticed about this films music was that there was a lot of singing throughout the whole movie. I think that Dorothy was a very good singer and I liked her voice so it made the movie better. I think that the songs they sang in this film were cute and it made the movie better overall. I don't think they sang too much either.
The first thing that I noticed about this film was that it was very colorful. Everything was bright and pretty. I started to like this movie when the munchkin people came in it because I thought they were funny. After that the movie was still good because weird things kept happening in it. I think the American Film Institute included this film in their list because it was entertaining. I would reccomend it to people who like movies with a lot of singing in them.

West Side Story
The movie I watched was West Side Story and the major actors in it are Natalie Wood and Richard Beymer. The director of this movie Jerome Robbins.The main characters in this movie are Maria, a young girl who came to America with her family from Puerto Rico. Bernardo, who is Maria's brother. Tony, who is a young guy who falls in love with Maria and is part of a gang called the Jets. Anita, who was the girlfriend of Bernardo. The main conflict in this movie is that Maria and Tony want to be together because they are in love but they are not allowed to be because Maria's family is in the opposite gang as Tony is. The two gangs are always fighting.
I think the plot in this movie was simple because there was not very much to it. I also think that it was realistic beause there are gangs in the cities and they fight and kill each other a lot. The dialouge in this movie was where you could tell it was an old movie but it was pretty much normal, but i also think it was sometimes kind of poetic. A theme that i saw in this movie was love. Tony and Maria fell in love and wanted to be together.

What i noticed about the film's editing was that there were a lot of lengthy shots, especially the ones with Tony and Maria. The music in the movie was always the actors singing. I think the music they sang was good and it made the movie seem to have a lot of emotion.

The Sound of Music
The movie i watched is called The Sound of Music and the director of it is Robert Wise. The major actors in the movie are Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer. The main characters are Maria, Captain Von Trapp, the Baroness, and the seven Von Trapp children. Maria is a young girl who wanted to become a nun but she always got into trouble at the church where she lived doing things she was not supposed to be doing. The Captain was a guy who's wife died and he was stuck alone with his seven children and he didn't know how to take care of them properly so he was very stirct with them all and they didn't have a normal life. The seven children always did bad things to their new babysitters so they could get some kind of attention from their father.
The conflict is when Maria was sent from her church to be the new babysitter for the seven children she kept trying to help the relationship between the father and his children and make him stop being strict and so mean to them. Their father kept getting mad because Maria and all the children kept breaking his rules. He was very fed up with Maria because she would not listen to him. Then he changed his mind about being so strict with his children and firing Maria because she fixed his relationship with the children. He was going to marry this woman the Baroness but he suddenly changed his mind because he realized after Maria had left and came back that he was in love with her and they both wanted to marry each other. Then soon after they were married the whole family had to escape from the Nazi's or he would be forced to leave his family for a very long time.
The acting in this movie was very good i thought. You could easily believe that the actors were the characters. The Captain was a very serious and scary guy so you could imagine him being a navy captain. The children all seemed to be like real brothers and sisters. You could believe that Maria and the Captain fall in love because they went well together and that the children wanted Maria to be their new mother because she worked well with the children it seemed like.
The music in this film made the whole thing more interesting. There was a lot of singing in it and everyone was a good singer. It made the film seem happier. I think the story was kind of unbelieveable because it is not realistic that every child that they had was a good singer and actually liked to sing. The dialouge in this film was very old fashioned.

I first started to dislike this film a little bit when they started singing because it seemed like they sang for way too long. My first impression of it lasted because throughout the movie they kept singing very long songs. This movie reminded me of movie i have seen before about Nazis because they had to escape from them. I think they included this movie in their list because it was an interesting movie and i thought it was good. It was a very happy movie.

Goodfella's
The movie that i watched was Goodfella's. It was directed by Martin Scorsese. The major actors in this movie were Robert De Niro and Ray Liotta. The main characters in this film were Karen, a Jewish woman who marries an Italian man named Henery Hill and he was in the mob. The other characters were Paul and Tommy and Jimmy. They all worked together. The main conflict is that all the men in the mob want to do everything they need to do to make money without getting into trouble with the police. They do end up in jail throughout the movie though. They get out of jail eventually and Henry finds a way to fix his problems with the mob and keep his family safe.
The story of the movie is realistic to me because people in the mob have a hard time staying safe from the police and other people in the mob that are trying to kill them. It seems like they would also have a hard time keeping their family safe because it would be an easy way to get revenge on someone in the mob by hurting their family. The dialouge in this movie was sometimes amusing and it was also the way people talk in real life.
A theme that i saw in this movie was death. The people in the mob killed a lot of people because they made them mad or did something wrong. They didn't give people a second chance and didn't care what excuses people had, they just killed them anyways. In this movie it was easy to believe that the actors really were the characters. They were all very serious and it fit them because they were all kind of scary looking people.
The sets in this film were in places like bars and places where they stole money from and mostly in their homes or in jail. The men who were in the mob always dressed up in suits. The women were dressed up too throughout the movie and wore a lot of makeup.
